SIRISIA MP JOHN WALUKHE RISKS LOSING HIS SEAT AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY OF CORRUPTION

One of “Tanga Tanga” movement now

rebranded as Jubilee “Asili” Brigadier, might

lose his position as an elected Member of

Parliament of Sirisia Constituency if sentenced

to jail.

If a Kenyan Member of Parliament loses more

than eight sittings in the National Assembly or

is jailed for more than six months, he or she

loses his or her seat and a by-election is called

by the Country IEBC.

Sirisia Constituency elected member of

Parliament Major rt. John Walukhe and his co

accused Grace Sarapay Wakhungu were found

guilty of fraudulent acquisition of public

property, perjury and uttering false document.

In a Judgment of over five hundred pages which

was delivered on Monday 22nd June 2020 at

10am to 2pm East Africa Time, Senior Principal

Magistrate Anti Corruption Court Elizabeth

Juma found the two accused guilty of the

offences they were charged with two years ago.

The first accused and now convict Grace

Sarapay Wakhungu is a family member of the

Founder of Makini Group of Schools Mary

Okello , The Former Vice President of the

Republic of Kenya, Uncle, Moody Awori and

Grace is also the Mother of the former

Environment Ministry, Cabinet Secretary and

now Ambassador Judy Wakhungu.

The first accused Grace was found guilty in all

the five counts where in count one, she was

found guilty of uttering a false document, being

a Director of Erad Supplies and General

contracts limited within the County of Nairobi,

knowingly and fraudulently uttered an invoice

for the sum of US Dollars 1,146,000 purporting

to be the storage fee of to be supplied white

maize.

And in count two she was found guilty of

Perjury, where as the Director of Erad Supplies

and General contracts limited, Grace gave false

evidence to claim cost of commodities for the

storage of white maize .

While the third, fourth and firth count both

convicts Grace Wakhungu and Legislator John

Walukhe were found guilty of fraudulent

acquisition of public property, the two acquired

over 290 million Kenya shillings purporting to

be the cost of maize storage and to be

supplied.

In a separate count, they also fraudulently

acquired US dollars over 24,000 purporting to

be the cost of supplied maize and in the firth

count the two jointly fraudulently acquired a

public property over 13 million Kenya shillings

purporting to be the storage fee of to be

supplied White maize.

Through their team of Officers of the Court, the

two convict were court unaware and pleaded

with the trial court to allow them more time to

be able to prepare to submit their mitigation,

where the Court in brief ruling granted their

prayers and remanded the two convicts at

kilimani Police Station Nairobi County for two

days.

John Walukhe on Thursday 25th June 2020 at

2.30pm East Africa Time.
