Businessman Chris Philip Obure and his
personal security Robert Bodo Ouko will be
charged with four counts of failing to secure
firearm, failing to secure ammunition, being in
possession of a firearm without licence and
being in possession of ammunition.
As Director of Criminal Investigation Detectives
arrested a Congolese National Yatha Bahati
Josuf on allegations that he was in constant
communication with the murder suspects
before a 28 year old business associate Kelvin
Omwenga was allegedly shot in his bedroom at
Galana Kilimani Area Nairobi County under
unclear circumstances.
Appearing before Nairobi’s Senior Principal
Magistrate Sinkian Tobiko at Milimani law
Court on Thursday 10th September 2020 at
11.56 am East Africa Time, through their
officers of the Court Arum, Nyaberi and Prof
Patrick Limumba, the suspects in a brief oral
application requested the court to Defer plea
taking to Friday 11th September.
Chris Obure through his lawyer informed the
court that he developed coronavirus symptoms
and was rushed to Satellite Nairobi Medical
Institution, where the State Prosecution did not
object to the suspects application and the duty
Court granted the application.
And in a separate miscellaneous application
where State in application filed before Court
seeking more days to detain a Congolese
National Bahati, was dismissed and the Senior
Principal Magistrate Sinkian Tobiko released
the accused on a cash bail of 0.1 million Kenya
shillings with a condition that he report to the
Director of Criminal Investigation Office for
further interrogation.
