MURDER TRIAL OF CITIZEN TV NEWS ANCHOR MARIBE AND JOSEPH BEGINS, DOCTOR’S REPORT REVEALS THE DECEASED MONICA WAS RAPED

Drama as the murder trial of Citizen TV news anchor Jacqueline Maribe and boyfriend Joseph Irungu begins.

The two accused were charged with the murder of business lady Monica Kimani officially stated with the Government pathologist taking the witness stand.

The trial court was informed that journalists breached laws, and the court ejected all journalists from various media houses covering the proceedings for misconduct.

It took the intervention of the outgoing Court Reporters Association Chairman Paul Ogemba to apologise on behalf of all the media houses in Kenya, for the trial court to allow journalists back.

The State Prosecution Catherine Mwaniki raised an objection accusing the Star and Nation newspapers for unlawfully reporting on confidential Prosecution report, exposing witnesses under protection.

The Prosecution was also unable to explain before trial judge, Justice James Wakiaga how the Prosecution confidential information on witnesses was licked to members of the fourth estate.

Taking the witness stand Dr. Ndegwa the Government pathologist informed the court that the deceased died of excessive bleeding after her throat was slit with a sharp object.

Dr. Ndegwa in his report also admitted that Monica Kimani was sexually assaulted before being killed.

The State Prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki in her submission, stressed that there was a deliberate attempt by the two accused Joseph Irungu and Jacqueline Maribe to cover and destroy the evidence.

In October 2018 Joseph Kuria Irungu a trained mercenary in middle East and also offered VIP security during elections campaign in Kenya to several politicians together with the girlfriend Jacqueline Wanjiru Maribe Citizen TV news anchor were charged with the murder of Monica Kimani.
