FIREARM LICENCING BOARD REFUSE TO RENEW THE CERTIFICATE OF AN MP ASSOCIATED WITH DEPUTY PRESIDENT

Through his lawyer Danstan Omari Kimilili National Assembly Representative Didmus Wekesa Barasa Mutua has filed a petition before court to compel the firearm licensing board to renew the firearm certificate of the applicant.

Lawyer Danstan Omari in the application is disturbed by the action’s of the Firearm licensing board after his Client presented himself for the clearance even after following the laid down procedure was orally informed that his licence will not be renewed without giving reasons.

The law Maker 36 years old Didmus Barasa a die hard supporter of Deputy President William Ruto in his application stated that his life is at risk after receiving threats from unknown characters.

The application under certificate of urgency was was served to the Secretary of Firearm licensing board as the first respondent, Firearm licensing board, the Attorney General and Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Interior planning and Coordination.

The application further stated in his application that in January 2019 he was a victim of armed robbery along Mombasa Road.

And he is seeking the court to grant orders for his Firearm licence be renewed.
