It sounds like a drama or horrific movie acted
straight from Hollywood, only to turn out to be
real without being edited as a three week old,
one of the stolen baby twins from Ogembo
Market, Gucha, Kisii County dies at Nairobi
referral Kenyatta National Hospital.
The suspect Rose Nyabeki Osoro in her 50s
after allegedly received the stolen twins from
another suspect who is on the run, decided to
admit one of the stolen twins who was unwell
and in critical condition only to loose the battle.
That’s how the Country Independent
Investigation Department, Director of Criminal
Investigation got wind and arrested the
suspect, where she was arraigned before
Nairobi’s Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku on
Thursday 26th November 2020 at 10.12 am
East Africa Time and charged with one count of
trafficking in persons contrary to section 3 (1)
(e) as read with section 3 (5) of the Counter
trafficking in persons ACT no. 8 of year 2010.
Where the accused pleaded not guilty and was
denied bond as her Officer of the Court through
an oral submission before the duty Court
pleaded for lenient bond and also informed the
Court that the accused, Rose Osoro is
contemplating spilling the beans and might be
the key State Prosecution witness in the
ongoing trafficking of alleged stolen baby twins,
an inhuman criminal matter before the duty
Court.
The State Prosecution informed the Court that
on 14th of October year 2020, the accused Rose
Osoro allegedly received less than one month
old baby twins, baby A and B at Machongo
village in Gucha sub County of Kisii County
Kenya, jointly with others not before the Court
with a purpose of abuse.
Cases of human trafficking, stolen babies from
Maternity Hospitals within the Country and
switching off babies during the birth to suit the
interests of wannabe parents at a negotiated
fee, is not a new scandal in the Country as
several unresolved case’s continue to pile with
accusations being directed, to a well oiled
cartels operating within the Country Maternity
Hospital corridors.
