On Friday 30th October 2020 was indeed a
black Friday as twenty Buildings were
destroyed in the Western Turkey, the City of
Izmir after a strong earthquake of 7.0
magnitude strike.
While in Kenya two convicts were sentenced to
several years imprisonment after being found
guilty of conspiring with the Terrorists group
and assisting the terror group Al Shabaab to kill
67 innocent Kenyans and foreigners at the
Popular mall West Gate situated within the
Capital City Nairobi.
In the Western Turkey, the City of Izmir a strong
Earthquake strike with a magnitude of 7.0
destroying close to twenty buildings including
residential with Turkey Nationals scampering
for safety while the rescue team combing the
debris pulling out survivors in the Turkish City
of Izmir .
The Turkish government confirmed that six
people died and over two hundred were injured
as rescue team manage to pull over seventy
people from the rubbles.
At the same hour in the East African Region
Super Power State, Kenya, two People a Somali
National and a Kenyan resident of Garissa
County were sentenced to 33 years and 18
years imprisonment, after being found guilty of
conspiracy to commit terrorism act contrary to
section 23 (4) of the terrorism act 2012 of the
penal code.
The offence was committed in the year 2013
where several innocent people lost their lives
totalling to sixty seven, after the assailants
were killed by the Country Kenya Defence Force
Special Forces after four days siege at the
Popular West Gate shopping mall within Nairobi
County.
During the sentence, the Chief Magistrate
Francis Andayi in his short delivery informed a
packed Court that the two Convict served seven
years in remand and according to article 49 of
the New 2010 Constitution of the Republic of
Kenya, it was the discretion of the trial Court to
deduct the seven years spend in remand prison
from the actual sentences.
Whereby the first Convict a Somali National 31
year old Mohammed Ahmed Abdi the only Son
in a polygamous family and came to Kenya 14
years ago will serve 26 years in Kenyan
Maximum Prison Kamiti together with his co
convict 31 year old Hussein Hassan from a
pastoralist family and a herder never attended
any formal education, the fifth born in a family
of nine sibling who’s sentence was reduced to
eleven years after deducting seven spend years
in remand prison during the lengthy trial at
Nairobi Milimani Law Court.
Several heads of States Globally has send their
condolences to the affected family of the
deadly strong Turkish earthquake, with four
Countries Belgium, Turkey, Greece and
Macedonia suffering the effect of the deadly
Earthquake, bringing back the memories of
Tsunami within the deadly World Oceans.
