ASSISTANT CHIEF EARNING 10,000 SACKED FOR RECEIVING 30,000 BRIBE

A middle aged man, assistant chief stationed at

Highbridge parklands Nairobi County Kenya lost

his job after being charged with two counts of

receiving and requesting a bribe.

Justus Atieri Mulunda who earns a net monthly

salary of 10,000 kenya shillings appeared

before Nairobi’s Anti Corruption Senior Principal

Magistrate Felix Kombo and pleaded not guilty.

The court was informed by the State Prosecutor

that on 11th September the year 2017 at

assistant County Commissioner Office in

Highbridge Division, Westlands sub County

within Nairobi County being an assistant Chief,

it was alleged that Chief Mulunda requested a

bribe of 100,000 from Mela Singh and Mandeep

Channan.

And in a separate count chief Mulunda who is

under the Office of the Ministry of Interior and

Coordination of National Government, was also

accused of receiving a sum of 30,000 kenya

shillings from Mandeep Channan in the same

month and year.

He was released on a bond of 1.5 million surety

of the same or a cash bail of 100,000 kenya

shillings pending the pre trial directions to set

the hearing dates.
