NAIROBI COUNTY COMMANDER DIRECTED BY COURT TO ARREST OFFICER HANDLING ECHESA CASE

Nairobi’s Senior Principal Magistrate Kennedy

Cheruyiot has issued a warrant of arrest order

directing Nairobi County Commander to arrest

Police Constable John Munjama based at

Kiambu County.

The Lower criminal Court delivered the ruling

after applicant Former Cabinet Secretary for

Sports Rashid Mohamed Echesa through his

Officers of the Court Brian Khaemba and Evans

Ondieki filed an application, seeking orders

directing law enforcement unit to return the

applicant impounded vehicle Range Rover and

his two guns.

The court order which was disobeyed by the

Director Criminal Investigations Officer was

issued two weeks ago by the trial court, where

he also failed to attend court after being

summoned.

The matter which was before Senior Principal

Magistrate Kennedy Cheruyiot at Milimani Law

Court on 20th July 2020 at 11.34 am East

Africa Time was set for a mention on the

progress of the matter, in the presence of the

State Counsel, Defence counsel and the

applicant Rashid Echesa.

Where the court issued a warrant of arrest for

the investigating officer John Munjama and be

immediately effected by Nairobi County Police

Commander and the matter be mentioned on

03rd August at 9.30am.
