MAN AND WOMAN CHARGED WITH TAKING A FOOTAGE OF ALLEGED PRESIDENTIAL CONVOY

Twists and turns as the two accused a middle

aged male and a youthful female charged with

Intercepting footage of alleged Kenyan

Presidential Convoy demands for the

statements of the head of state and AU Special

Envoy.

On 02 June 2020 at around 8pm East Africa

Time along Kenyatta Avenue Nairobi County,

past the initial curfew hours the two accused

Patrick Rading Ambogo and Janet Magoma

Ayonga former employees of Sarova Stanley

were accused of being behind the recent

footages on social media where prominent

personalities believed to be the Head of state

and AU Special Envoy, were seen along the

streets of Nairobi past curfew hours inspecting

the ongoing City streets beautification.

Through their officers of the Court Danstan

Omari for the second accused and Apollo

Mboya for the first accused while addressing

members of the fourth estate at Milimani law

Court on Wednesday 17th June at 10.37 East

Africa Time, through a joint statement said that,

they are heading to the Director of Criminal

Investigation headquarters along Kiambu Road

to request for the two statements of the said

two personalities captured in the footage.

The accused who were arrested on 6th June

2020 and freed on a police bond presented

themselves before Nairobi’s Senior Principal

Magistrate Bernard Ochoi at Milimani law

Court, where they were charged with one count

of an authorised interception of a computer

data, contrary to section 17 (1) of the Computer

misuse and Cybercrime act.

The Court was not informed by both the State

Prosecution and defence the owners of the

Computer data that was allegedly intercepted.

As the Magistrate freed the accused on a bond

of 30,000 surety of the same or a cash bail of

10,000 Kenya shillings plus one contact person

each.

The State prosecution has lined up four

witnesses to testify against the accused.

On 02nd June at 8pm, Patrick and Janet are

alleged while working together, they

intentionally and without authorization

intercepted a security CCTV footage capturing

the head of state’s Convoy along Kenyatta

Avenue.
