KEROCHE BREWERIES FOUNDER REGRETS INVESTING IN KENYA

Tabitha Karanja Chief Executive Officer Keroche Breweries Kenya regrets being embarrassed and humiliated by the State on solvable issue of tax evasion.

Despite the Company alleviating poverty, joblessness by creating thousands of employment opportunities with more benefiting indirectly as an entrepreneur in Kenya.

She regrets investing in Kenya after she was charged together with her husband over tax evasion amounting to 14.4 billion Kenya shillings, an issue they said was being discussed on formula to pay KRA .

The CEO stressed that the State breached the law by charging them while the tax dispute matter was already filed with the Tax Appeal Tribunal, the institution mandated by the law to solve dispute arising on accumulated huge tax .

The signal is alarming and worrisome on the manner the local investors are being subjected too and treated like convicted criminals.

The Company boost of acquiring state of the art brewing facility worth over eight billion and annually pays two billion tax to Kenya Revenue Authority, accused the State of maliciously intentionally publishing false information to defame, destroy their reputation to sabotage operations.

Keroche Breweries was founded twenty two years ago with an intention to free Kenyans and end the monopoly created by Kenya Breweries Limited for several years down the line.

Keroche Breweries expected the Government to be on the forefront in creating a friendly environment to enable local investors operate without hindrance.

Tabitha further stressed that the only dispute with Kenya Revenue Authority was the applicable rate on one of their products.
