KENYAN LAWYERS HUMBLY URGE PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA TO OPEN THE COUNTRY

By Dr. John Khaminwa and Ontomwa Jeremiah (African Times Guest Writers)

The Government of the Republic of Kenya

cannot pretend or try hoodwink the Nation that

they are capable of monitoring the lives of close

to fifty million Citizens of the beautiful Country

Kenya, no Government has the resources to

undertake such a gigantic exercise Globally.

The Country cannot be on lockdown forever as

the economy shrinks with hundreds of

thousands Citizens rendered jobless and the

Country media not spared in the purge, where

close to five hundred Journalists have been

sacked due to Cororavirus pandemic.

It is the responsibility of each one of us to take

care of themselves. Of course in the extreme

human cases due to extreme poverty or

physical disability, there will be always a

helping hand from the Government.

Tanzanian President Magufuli has given us a

lead. Let us emulate him and follow his foot

steps of our big brother in Tanzania whom we

admire as respected African Statesman.

Let the Kenyan elected President Uhuru Muigai

Kenyatta to open the Country on July 06th

2020, as the rest of the Citizens wait to

celebrate his announcement while they begin

from the start to build their future and the

battered economy.

The collapse of economy will result into more

unpredictable hardships leading to numerous

deaths and fear of failed State scenario.

This is a catch 22 situation. Let’s not forget the

emerging two international rights, the right to

be sick and the right to die.

This case gives us an opportunity, although

difficult to appreciate that death is inevitable

and the doctrine of hard work as ordained by

the Almighty Great God must always prevail.
