The High Court of Kenya has issued
anticipatory orders barring Kenya Airways from
suspending the whistle-blower who alerted the
entire Country through a video posted online
over coronavirus.
The Constitutional Court while issuing the
orders praised the suspended airline staff for
being a hero by saving the lives of 47 million
Kenyan population from the deadly virus that
has no cure and claimed hundreds of
thousands lives.
Through his lawyer Dunstan Omari the
applicant Gire Ali from Marsabit County Kenya
moved to the Constitutional Court seeking
orders to stop the police from arresting,
harrasing, investigating and prosecuting him
and his employer to suspend his suspension.
Orders which were also granted by Justice
Weldon Korir, barring the Country Chief
Investigation Unit from arresting Ali Gire,
investigating him or charging him.
Ali’s Officer of the Court Dunstan Omari
Constitutional Lawyer hinted that there were
plans to arrest Ali Gire by Anti Terror Police Unit
and charge him with being sympathiser of Al
Shabaab Terror Group.
A move that prompted Lawyer Omari to file an
application on behalf of his client before High
Court at Milimani Nairobi County stopping the
Investigators from the alleged witch-hunt.
It is alleged that the Air line Staffer recorded the
video on February 26, that miraculously saved
the 47 million population by exposing poor
screening of 239 passengers from China for the
deadly coronavirus at the international airport.
Mr Ali Gire who is Kenya Airways assistant
security agent and decided to seek Court
assistant through his lawyer after his life was
threatened.
The deadly coronavirus has claimed over two
thousands lives globally with China registering
the highest with 2,666, United States of
America 2, South Korea 10, Japan 4, Italy 7
despite having the best and well equipped
hospitals globally were unable to prevent the
deaths, Iran 14, Philippines 1, Taiwan 1 and
France 1.
With over one hundred thousands confirmed
cases of people who are already infected
worldwide with another hundreds of thousands
suspected being quarantined in various
locations globally.
Through his lawyer Dunstan Omari the
applicant witnessed the landing of China
Southern Airlines plane at Jomo Kenyatta
International Airport Nairobi , contrary to
communication by Kanya Airport Authority that
flights from China had been suspended.
It is alleged that the aircraft remained
unattended for several hours, only Chinese
Nationals were in vicinity accompanied by there
media crew, who were alleged that were taking
pictures using their mobile phones.
Ali through his Lawyer alleged that he received
a call at 2pm and 3pm two days later after
leaving work at 9.30am from a suspicious caller
where he was informed that he was urgently
needed for questioning at his employer office.
The Kenya Airways assistant Security Officer
now fears for his life and in his application filed
before a Constitutional Court is also seeking for
protection.
