Former Kenya Ports Authority Managing
Director Daniel Manduku and Junior staff Juma
Fadhili were charged with several counts before
Anti Corruption Court on Friday 28th August
2020 at Milimani Nairobi.
The two accused pleaded not guilty to
conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption,
engaging on a project without prior planning,
wilful failure to comply with applicable laws
procedures and guidelines relating to
procurement.
The accused who appeared before Anti
Corruption Chief Magistrate Lawrence
Mugambi will know their fate this evening
whether the court will release them on bond.
It is alleged that in late March the year 2019
and in mid August same year within the
Republic of Kenya being persons employed by
the public body as Kenya Ports Authority as a
managing Director jointly conspired to commit
an offence of corruption by approving
procurement of concrete barriers works with a
contractual sum of over one billion kenya
shillings which work was not approved in the
budget.
